Cocker's voice really dominates the proceedings, as I think it should, but there were times when it did tend to overshadow the backing musicians just a little bit much. The "surround-style" used really doesn't change much from song to song, either.Īudio quality sounded fine throughout the album. For the majority, there is nothing "flashy" or impressive, but it suits the material well. Occasionally, he lets Cocker's voice take over the room such as on "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me", where his voice is spread out across both the front speakers and offered by the surrounds. The surround-sound presentation of the music takes a pretty traditional approach throughout the album, moving some of the instruments into the surrounds as well as the backing vocals to highlight both and open up the sound.
